The new G-Sport Rollcage rim is shipping now. What’s a Rollcage? It’s a more affordable version of the Ribcage. How’d we get a lower price? Well, the Rollcage uses standard 6061-T6 aluminum instead of the Ribcage’s proprietary grade, and the Rollcage also goes without the Ribcage’s outermost reinforcing ribs for the spoke nipples – a feature that requires greater precision when it comes to drilling the spoke holes.
The Rollcage makes use of the Ribcage’s proven cross-lacing for improved durability and stronger wheel builds, and also incorporates a similar cross-sectional design that has been narrowed down to 34mm’s. Additionally, this section-shape utilizes thick 2.1mm sidewalls for impact resistance. You’ll be able to tell the Rollcage “by eye” because it has a groove that runs along the center of the rim.
The Rollcage is available now in hard-anodized black or chrome, 36 or 48-H, with a weight of approximately 455g. The rim’s ERD is 390.
We’ve had test riders on the Rollcage rim exclusively for over a year now, and it has proven itself time and again. We’re confident that you’ll appreciate it as much as we have.
9-T driver Odyssey V3 cassette hubs and wheels are shipping now. The wheels will be available in either hard-anodize black or chrome, and the hubs are available in black, gold, high-polished or white. The drivers will be available separately toward the beginning of the new year, and they’ll be compatible with all of our earlier 14mm cassette hubs.

The Senior Pivotal saddles we revealed at Interbike are now shipping! They come in black, red, brown, white and clear (plastic only). They come in plastic and padded versions, but if you decide to strip the padded version, you’ll find the plastic version inside!
You can check out the flipbook HERE for more photos.
So… I was browsing the Strictly Fitteds website like I do a few times a months, and I came across our “Driver” hat that we are doing with Estate LA. This caught me off guard (in a good way).
The photo in the post was one that I took with my iPhone and had uploaded to Defgrip via the Defgrip Flickr page, so this is not really an official release photo, but its still all good.
They’re available in black and white now, but what else has changed? Thanks to your feedback, our own long-term testing, and a total re-design to the injection tooling, the newest Plegs now feature a thicker cross-section at the end to extend their grinding life, and the sleeve’s plastic compound has been tweaked slightly to also improve on their overall durability. The ringing in our ears from the standardized testing hasn’t stopped. Every batch must pass on our “true-to-life” test rig or it is rejected, and this updated version has been spot-on. Also, if you have the original Pleg hardware, then the newest replacement sleeves will work perfectly.
We hope you’ll enjoy the updated Pleg as much as we do. So, let’s get back to riding forbidden skateparks, grinding the ungrindable and putting security guards everwhere a little more at ease (maybe).
We know that Plegs aren’t for everyone (and they were never intended as such), but if you enjoy the benefits that plastic can offer, then you’ll definitely want to pick these up.
Remember those Glow in the Dark Twisted PCs we showed you during Interbike? Well, they’re available now and you can get in touch with your local shop or mail order to get your hands on a pair.
Ever since we posted the “Custom” Chase Hawk wheels the other day, I have been getting calls/emails from people trying to order them as a stock option, which does not exist. Jim Bauer custom built them for Chase.
We know they look rad, but if you wish to run the “Chase Hawk” wheels, you will need to purchase the Hard Anodize Red Hazard lite rims, Red Vandero 2 hub and Red Odyssey after market spokes and have that hotness built up. All of which is available now.
We released the G-Sport Ratchet Hub a couple weeks ago and we now have an instruction manual available for download. It has step-by-step instructions for maintenance, cleaning and switching from right to left hand drive. In it, you’ll also find a complete listing of technical specifications for the hub.
Certain shirts have been re-stocked and among them is the Aaron Ross keyboard shirt. Printed on quality 50/50 American Apparel shirts, these shirts look, fit and feel great. You can get them at bike shops, mail-orders and our online store.
