What kind of 9, or 8t, cogg could i use with the V3??

Posted by: Charly at April 9, 2008 08:02 PM

hey um, i'm just wondering, would a v3 driver work in any other model hazard hub?

Posted by: lc at April 9, 2008 10:05 PM

profile hubs are so much better

Posted by: mike at April 9, 2008 11:03 PM

why go back to 3 pawl drivers?

Posted by: Josh at April 9, 2008 11:28 PM

3 pawls work better than 4 if they are spaced correctly.

Posted by: bmxpunkr at April 9, 2008 11:37 PM

The drivers are all backwards compatible. You may need to add a spacer between the driver and the lock nut to clear the Bearing Clip.

In the past the 3 pawls worked quite well and didn't stress the spring as much. We figured we would just go back to that while improving the pawls themselves to keep them from floating in their pockets.

"but my elem stem v1 right now has a crack on both side of the logo of odsy.. what should i do?"

You can either call in or email Nuno about a warranty. If is is cracked, there shouldn't be any issue with a replacement.

will other drivers fit in your hubs?

for example I have an 8tooth driver w/ 4 pawls, made for the last version odyssey cassette hub. am I gonna have any problems with that, or the profile TI axle I have too?

thanks.. any of you guys going to JOMOPRO?
its gonna be ballin outta control

When will the 48h red LHD be available in bike shops? Empire?

Posted by: g at April 10, 2008 06:49 AM

Old Drivers and Axles will continue to work with these shells. The Tooth Ring and bearing spacing has not changed.

Posted by: Ben at April 10, 2008 09:43 AM

does the profile TI Axle and 9T driver Works the same as the past hub models??

COOL STYLE BMX FOR LIFE

Posted by: barak at April 11, 2008 12:43 AM

i just replaced my hazard cassette with the proper magnalite 2 a few months ago, and i don't mind it luckily.still rocking the twisted pedals with wombolts and a vermont sprocket though, and they are pretty much perfect

Posted by: e at April 11, 2008 07:07 AM

Why doesn't Odyssey put a 9T driver on their hubs like every other company? Also, nobody rides cogs anymore, or even wants them. The 9T driver is proven now, my 200lb dad rides and shreds one, Shad Johnson even rides one... come on.

weight?

For everyone asking about the different drivers, if they were compatible, they still are.

They went back to 3-pawls because, like George explains on the g-sport site, that 4 pawls actually creates more stress on 2 pawls while the other two are out of alignment from their placement. a 4-pawl system is just a cool way of saying it's a 2-pawl system with extra pawls. yes they all work but only 2 at a time.

odyssey doesn't make an 8 or 9-tooth driver because, and they have explained it, you have to use a smaller bearing to fit in that smaller space, and by watching other driver bearings fail, they concluded that it wouldn't be worth making it. take a look at the 8-tooth driver profile makes. it's not even a bearing, it's a roller bushing. not very comforting.

the hub shell just has a different look to it, that's pretty much it. there are small differences but old hardware fits.

they knocked like an ounce and a half off it, so like 17 oz.

ben can i have your lum4erjacks.

can you tell me the bearing dimension(id,od,thickness) of the hazzard v2 rear hub with the 2pc. driver? are they all the same size? or are the 2 that mount into the hub shell different? thanks for the help.

Posted by: chris at April 15, 2008 11:34 AM

Dear bikedog, you are not Odyssey, therefore I will ignore your answer. Jim Bauer, your section in Electronical was awesome, maybe even the best. I would appreciate it if you would respond to my question about the 9T driver. Aaron Ross' bike is cool all neon red. Thanks, Ari Kaiser.

those hubs will never compare to profile cassettes, no offence

Posted by: small boy at April 17, 2008 12:18 PM

that part bout 4 pawl driver not wrkin as gud as 3 pawl is complete and utter rubbish, i have dun research and even if what george says is true then why dont 2 pawls work and 1 doesnt in a 3 pawl cassette? its exactly the same but with 1 extra pawl, i had a hazzard cassette at 1 point, and the pawls smashed into a million pieces after bout 2 months, and im not even a harsh rider, iv got a profile and it has been running strong 4 more than a year now, its still loud and running proud! i must say ive never broke a pawl or spring with a profile. cant argue at the facts

Posted by: small boy, agen at April 17, 2008 12:44 PM

Soooooooo clean. As far as complete wheels go, I'm looking into replacing my old hazard laced to an araya, with a Hazard v3 complete rear wheel. What colours would it be available in hub wise?

Posted by: Matt at April 18, 2008 07:57 AM

Awsome. but when is my ratchet coming out?
