VANDERO 2 WHEELS IN STOCK

Vandero 2 wheels are shipping to shops and distributors now. You can expect them to be available in a week or two (if not sooner). As with all new machine built wheels, we highly recommend re-tensioning and re-truing the wheel after a few days of continuous use. Individual Vandero 2 hubs will be available soon.

COMPLETE WHEEL INFO:

- Black Vandero 2 Hub (36-H only).
- Black OEM Spokes.
- Hazard Lite Rim (chrome or hard anodized black).
- 2 lbs. 3 oz. with stock rim strip.
- Pricing will be slightly higher than the original Vandero wheel, but should remain in the same basic range.

VANDERO 2 HUBS:

The Vandero 2 is over three ounces lighter than the original Vandero, with only a minimal change in the suggested retail price. Employing G-Sport axle technology, this is essentially a mix of the Vandero and the Marmoset. What's the difference? The Marmoset has a stronger axle, bigger bearings and uses the highest quality materials available. The Vandero 2 is an affordable alternative that allows us to make reasonably priced factory built wheels.

- 17mm 7075-T6 helicoiled aluminum axle
- 3/8" G-Sport axle bolts w/17mm wrench flats & 6mm allen key slots.
- 2014-T6 forged Vandero hub shell (36-H only).
- 7075-T6 collars.
- 8.5 ounces (weight includes all hardware.)
- Black, Polished and limited editions.

Recent steps have been taken to ensure that the bearing seats on all of our hubs are being held to the tightest possible machining tolerances during manufacturing. We guarantee it.

A big post on the Plegs will be up tomorrow. They're not available yet, but we'll give you a lot of news on where we're at, as well as some interesting comments from the riders that are using them right now.

So psyched to hear the Pleg news/reports tomorrow. I like the Vandero 2 but I'm gonna pick up a M7 when I can afford it/when I get rid of my 14mm Dirt forks.

Posted by: nopobmxer01 at August 31, 2007 08:40 AM

"...affordable alternative.." ???? WTF!!! thats BULLSH*T!! and you know that! I have waited so long for this hub over the Marmoset and you claim the G-Sport version as having stronger bearings!!? In 6 years of riding and supporting your brand.. I am seriously disappointed.

However, those Director forks and Plegs make up for these sad news.

I still love ya, Hugo.

yer its not bullsh*t hugo, its true,, read THE GOD DAMN TEXT

Posted by: olly 1 at August 31, 2007 10:53 AM

The Marmoset has bigger bearings and a bigger axle. It's as simple as that.

Don't take "affordable" as a negative. You can't expect everyone to be able to afford the Marmoset ($80-90) or M7 wheel. For those that can't, the Vandero 2 hub ($65) and wheel is the next logical choice. The Hazard Lite has proven itself during the last 6 years, and the Vandero 2 is a huge improvement over the original Vandero Hub. A lot of team riders are on this wheel.

As for my text, and the long wait, I've essentially copied that section from the original Vandero 2 post that went up in October of last year, so it's not like it's entirely new information that's come from out of nowhere.

I'm sorry to hear you're disappointed. If you have any questions, please feel welcome to contact me via e-mail at any time.

ya man he said alllllong time ago that the marmoset was higher quality then the vandero 2..... which is why im wondering why a lot of you are so exited for its availabilty...... meh.... good job on the directors..... im even more satisfied with the looks of how u made it than i thought id be....... im gonna get these as soon as they come out i think they were a great idea..... the only bad part about them will be all the little kids at the park asking why my forks are bent..... and all the ppl that say there ugly and stuff and stupid..... then theyll become the "cool" part a month or two later and get em.... im not a fan of ppl that dont research parts much.... but thats me....Function over looks.... even though i think they look sweeet..... cant wait for da plegs also

Posted by: bro-g at August 31, 2007 01:05 PM

^^bro-g^^ that guys know something about bmx hes not a trend follower like all the other kids you dont need a fit s3 and slams to be good and yah function over looks hence the elementary stem=]

thanks nopo

Posted by: bro-g at August 31, 2007 03:17 PM

i love the spreme bolt wethepeople hub. haha

Posted by: and at August 31, 2007 03:48 PM

If the Van2 hub is basically a cheaper version of the Marmoset (that came out years ago) then why would you bother to compare it to a wethepeople hub that just came out recently?

Posted by: Jeep997 at August 31, 2007 03:57 PM

The Wtp hub is alright, nothing special though. I think it looks kinda ugly. The vandero 2 Looks much nicer. Does this hub have the problem which some bolt-through hubs do, when you tighten it do the bearings get 'pinched' and not spin as well?

Posted by: Piers at August 31, 2007 04:43 PM

are the hub flanges the same size as the O.G. vandero?

Posted by: jim at August 31, 2007 05:08 PM

wheres the pleg update i cant wait.

Posted by: mush at August 31, 2007 05:51 PM

The hub flange is slightly larger to accommodate a larger bearing for the 17mm Axle. It is a pretty unnoticeable difference.

Posted by: ben at August 31, 2007 11:17 PM

so what spoke size would i use to lace the new hub to my hazard lt

Posted by: jim at September 1, 2007 11:23 AM

188mm

Posted by: ben at September 1, 2007 11:27 AM
