this stem is great i have the first version i used it almost 1 year..sometimes it loose but i put grease on the bolt and the threaded parts to not come loose..

No i didnt miss it thats his old bike his new one is different the new frame and stuff i wanna see his new one

dosent seem as if the elementary has alot of clamping power i run a fit serise 2 the best stem ever made lol.

Ehem. My rawed Elementary is one of the best parts on my bike. Right next to my Ody bars and forks. ;) Like the review says, proper lubrication is key.

no ifs or buts the elementary is the best stem in the market; oldest part on my bike 2.5 years as good as the first day (ie, excellent) and it really grabs your bars all around;
no need for "unique flat-top design" *cough*...

I've had my elementary since Christmas 05 and not a single thing has gone wrong on it. It slipped once when I first installed it because I didn't tighten it enough but just make sure there are about two threads coming out of the side of the stem. I have never greased it (except for the head of the bolt when I left it out in the rain) and it has been fine for 1 1/2 years. Great product Odyssey

bullshit, I've had 3 elementaries now (on warranty) and none would stop slipping, all lubed up and tightened with a massive allen key (im a shop mechanic). Don't buy one if you don't enjoy finding the bars in your lap when you boost a big set. Wombolts on the other hand have been sweet.

Anyone reading this blog will surely realize the only people who dislike the Elementary are hopelessly brain dead.

I'm not trying to be a dick. But working at a bike shop, I have put hundreds of elementary stems on. All of the bikes left my shop dialed as hell. Most of the stems that I was replacing were S&M's because the damn fork bolts strip out. Now i love S&M just as much as anyone because of their heritage and kickass frames but Odyssey has the best warranty in the business and the most innovative parts out. The new fork they are working on is amazing its an old idea with new light shed on it. Oh did the redneck get any awards for unique design? No. If you want solid, light , reliable parts I don't see why you hate them so much. Maybe you are one of those people that had something break and you didn't warranty it. Believe me I know those people, I was one. I had one of the first elementary stems and it had it's fair share of problems, but that was partly my fault for the greasing and shit. I finally sent it back I have a v2 now. No problems.

to all you brain washed people.......with this garantee thing. primo dont offer warantee and still do lfetime warrantee had my hollow bite since they forst came out and they gave my brand new one no questions asked. primo make better parts than odyssey kirk. How many primo cranks have you heard breaking whereas odyssey has factory loads broken cranks thanks to you guys that are brain washed into the Lifetime Warantee bullCrap.
Seriously ADAM. dont be a FISH the Distributer gives the warantee and its up to them. they replace everything they would that i not questionable. So f... off

im not saying the design is not good ive had 3 but my last one really sucked so i went to an og redneck and you will never get stronger than that no way and now i ride an s3 and its moved like once only cuz i turned my bike into a projectile 20 feet in the air so who cares s&m needs no award to know they make the most copied stem OF ALL TIME!!!!!

All I'm saying is you don't have to hate man appreciate it for what it is. Maybe it's not for you, that doesn't mean it can't be for other people. The redneck is the most copied stem in bmx; but i can think of a company who didn't... I think we all know i mean Odyssey. I give credit to S&M and the contributions but they aren't doing a damn progressive thing anymore. If you want to "kick it old school" with shit you know works then do it; that way you wont complain when something breaks that you never tried.
