BLACK DENIM SERIES

When the "black denim series" ad hit, people started asking us if we were making jeans. While we had a good laugh at that thought, it is not true.

The picture above shows our new Limited Black Denim Series of saddles, which include the Junior, Senior, Veteran and Aitken. The Aitken version did not make this shipment, but will be here soon.

The Black Denim Junior, Senior and Veteran saddles are shipping now to our distributors, and will be available in shops/mailorders within a few weeks.

Please contact your local shop for info, and/or to lock one down.

Shops can contact SBS, QBP, BLACKOUT, CUSTOM CYCLE or J&B.

Posted by: olly1 at May 11, 2007 02:23 PM

i'm interested in seeing how they wear compared to other materials. obviously there has been testing but...
i'm liking the jim b. signature denim one on the left.

Posted by: bikedog at May 11, 2007 02:42 PM

weird.. but something new... so i like it. if only the senior would work with a pivitol post.... hint hint

Posted by: mullen at May 11, 2007 02:45 PM

it would be awesome if you guys would do some pivotal stuff and also maybe a white kevlar senior

Posted by: Casey at May 11, 2007 06:27 PM

i like the Aitken one the most

Posted by: john at May 11, 2007 07:04 PM

i want the aitkin, i will buy one if my seat breaks?

Posted by: kyle k at May 12, 2007 01:13 AM

thats amazin, cant wait till my current senior brakes so i can buy one!

Posted by: Calum at May 12, 2007 03:45 AM

i was just wondering, will the classic fork 7075 preload bolt fit the new sunday forks?

Posted by: belnapp at May 12, 2007 07:26 AM

idk somethin black and white would look cool if the design was cool

Posted by: dertjmper at May 12, 2007 09:00 AM

these seats suck your first bad idea in a while i wish you would have made the jeans

Posted by: Ryan at May 12, 2007 12:14 PM

are these things gonna tear the crap outta my legs?? and wear away the jeans id be wearing

Posted by: sam at May 12, 2007 12:35 PM

you guys should do a white kevlar pivotal senior

Posted by: Casey at May 12, 2007 01:02 PM

not bad, but no thanks. not for me. but I am pretty sure this will be copied by other companies. so watch out for pivotal ones guys lol

Posted by: Greg at May 12, 2007 01:27 PM

what are pivitols???? anyone?

Posted by: yea!! at May 12, 2007 02:32 PM

pivotal? odyssey doesnt seem like to the type to pay for use of another patented design, yet im curious if it was considered. like the use of material, and the fact that its not blue jean takes it from a blue-collar genre to a more sophisticated style conscious one. word.

Posted by: john murray at May 12, 2007 02:35 PM

for info on pivotals go check out www.macneilbmx.com

Posted by: Casey at May 12, 2007 02:51 PM

i just bought a new primo balance 7000 rim replacing an odyssey hazard lite, wow the primo is soo much lighter and better looking! I only have odyssey tyres and grips on my bike now, used to have heaps, odyssey, u better get your act together, alot of other companies are comin out with much better stuff right now

Posted by: Calum at May 12, 2007 04:16 PM

calum you are wrong about that ^ jcpc's are coming out and hopefully PLEGS so you best get your act your act together and get odyssey stuff. and balance rims are for weenies.(except for front and trailshredders).

Posted by: kirk at May 12, 2007 04:38 PM

Calum, are you serious? Balance rims are utter shit. I wouldn't run them if they were free.

Posted by: fred at May 12, 2007 05:09 PM

yeah when is odyssey gonna make a pivotal theres really no perks to not running a pivotal

Posted by: Ryan at May 13, 2007 12:22 AM

i have a pivitol seat and to tell you its not all that great its pretty smooth dont get me wrong but the way things are going i'd rather buy a seat with rails cause macneil (no offense) made their seats look really dumb by changing the style of the capitol

and check it out

weight weenies are gonna complain to macneil about how heavy the seat is and theyre gonna make it lighter and its just gonna be disaster waiting to happen

thats what i see in the future of pivitol

but odyssey are real men and can handle the weight

so yeah fuck pivitol unless your buying an SL or your local shop still has the old style of capitols or fat capitols

no 07 macneil seats for me

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Posted by: mistah fabb at May 13, 2007 02:43 AM

just picked up a veteran seat so good, holla!

Posted by: AL at May 13, 2007 05:14 AM

mistah fab, your so wright!!!!!! !!!!! wieght aint an prob its the rider

Posted by: anon at May 13, 2007 07:04 AM

MISTAH FAB! GHOST RIDE DA WHIP! hahaa

Posted by: john at May 13, 2007 10:22 AM

weight isn't even a issue
a pivitol seatpost with a SL seat, is heavier than a junior seat with a intac seatpost.
comes with that the intac is longer, so if you cut it you save even more weight.

i've broke 3 macneill seats the last year, so if i can get my hands on a black denin junior seat, i'll for shure ride that one.

Posted by: possenier at May 13, 2007 10:34 AM

weight is an issue have you ever rode a 23 pound bike of course not because you're not worried about weight when i could barely get 180's on my 30 pound bike i jumped on a well balanced 24 pound bike and got a 360 first try i could hop twice as high and pivotal seats aren't all about weight they are way easier to work with and they are way more comfortable i'm not saying that regular seats are difficult but they're not near as easy as a pivotal and i like odyssey more than any other company cause they stick behind their customers and they are light and strong and just the greatest and i would love it if they would make some pivotals even if they were limited edition just so i could have even more odyssey on my bike

Posted by: Casey at May 13, 2007 10:58 AM

and if you have broke three macniel seats in the last year you should kill yourself fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me fool me a third time i should kill myself haven't you heard that saying?

Posted by: Casey at May 13, 2007 10:59 AM

intac: 8.3 oz
macneil stump: 3.5 oz
odyssey junior:6.5 oz
macneil sl: 9.5 oz

macneil total: 13 oz

odyssey total: 14.8 oz

go look for yourself possenier

Posted by: Casey at May 13, 2007 11:19 AM

ha ha i run odsy junior seat and fit post so i win woo

Posted by: toad at May 13, 2007 11:29 AM

i love odyssey, but i run the macniel seat/post cause it's way
easier to work with and light. oh and the fit post is still 6.5 oz
so your total isn't really any lighter than the macniel toad

Posted by: seth at May 13, 2007 12:13 PM

jw how many limited ed junior seats have u guys made

Posted by: dertjmper at May 13, 2007 12:17 PM

thad be sick if you did a light blue denim and it would look just like jeans id buy it for sure...the aitken is looking killer right now though.

Posted by: sam at May 13, 2007 01:51 PM

i'm talking about a seatpost, not a thing to connect your seat with your top tube.
if you cut your intac just as short, you will still be lighter with the odyssey thing.

Posted by: possenier at May 13, 2007 02:19 PM

the stump and the intac are the same size 25.4 mm so no matter what way you put it the macneil combo is lighter and better nothing against odyssey but i like macneil's seats better

Posted by: Casey at May 13, 2007 10:00 PM

i'd like odessey to make pivotal seats. to that guy who compared odyssey seat and post vs. macneil, imagine if odyssed made a pivotal junior, with stump post would add up to only 10 oz. that yould be nice. olmost a 1/4 lb. less than with just macneil or just odyssey seats and posts. so i say that odysse makes pivotal seats so i can make my bike a 1/4 lb. lighter. thinking about it 1/4 lb. isn't that much, but hey, little by little.

Posted by: panchito at May 14, 2007 12:26 AM

ok so people who think a light bike will give them magical skills of riding a bike are retarded

i just saw a dude that weighed no more than 140lbs huck a 360 down a 10 stair no problem with a 35lb bike

and he even threw them on flat no prob

so if you think a light bike gives you super magical spinning powers you need your head examined

light bikes are nice dont get me wrong but its not the weight that makes the rider good its his knowledge and willingness to ride and learn new things that makes a rider

if you think riding your bars a certain height because some pro does doesnt make you as good as the person

its a trick that your mind is playing on you

its all about having your own style and riding what you think is fun

so if you think you need a light bike to enjoy yourself on a bike

then by all means go buy a bike that weighs 21lbs

and be blind folded by trends

i just dont care i love to ride

give me a bike and ill ride it

no matter what it weighs

when are those plegs gonna be out cause my city is opening a bike friendly park thats 40,000sq ft

and bikes have to have plastic sleeves to get in

so hurry up so i can go ride that place

its gonna be gnar

Posted by: mistah fabb at May 14, 2007 03:08 AM

mistah fabb is the best,,,, what a comment!!!!

Posted by: scurb at May 14, 2007 03:47 AM

yeah go mista fab he's so wright, macneil seats are shit odyssey is the best and be ur own not go with trends!!!!!!!!1

Posted by: kirk at May 14, 2007 03:48 AM

PLEGSPLEGSPLEGS!!

Posted by: kirk at May 14, 2007 03:56 AM

why is everyon talking about otehr crap. this is a post about odyssey seats and its a tad disrespectful to talk abotu otehr companies here. i mean you wouldnt go into starbucks driking wall mart own brankd coffee would you?

Posted by: adam at May 14, 2007 04:17 AM

does it really matter how much your bike weighs?seriously, i ride a gt bump stock frame that weighs about 7lb making my bike 32 pounds and i can still ride it as good as my friends 24-25 pound fit s3.

Posted by: belnapp at May 14, 2007 06:10 AM

it's not disrepectful to talk about other companies at all this is a message board and it doesn't say anything bad about odyssey they are my favorite company and they always will be but having a lighter bike will make your jump higher and your spins faster it's physics dumbass i know because i have tried both and i have been riding for about six years i've been through all the bike companies and i've been through all weights and sizes and with a light bike you feel more confident and you get opened up for a lot of thinges and the only reason that dude might have did the 3 down the 10 is because he hasn't rode with light bikes but i can 360 on my old 32 pound bike but i can 540 on flats with my 24 and a half pound bike and that makes enough sense to lighten up my bike

Posted by: Casey at May 14, 2007 10:45 AM

right, light bikes won't get u magical powers, but they keep u going longer. its nice to ride a little bit more every day isn't. it sucks when u have to end a session short because ur axhausted. about trends, talking about, and hating trends is the biggest one yet. if my bars are huge is because i am 6'3, and small bars kill my back. nobody has started a trend about long frames, i hope some does, i could use that one.

Posted by: panchito at May 14, 2007 10:56 AM

these seats are really cool\\//

Even if odyessy throws out a shitty part ill buy it NO MAtter what.

You know why?

Warrenty, they stand behind their products unlike other companies (FIT, Volume, eastern)

You cant say any one has a better warrenty department and Ill say your full of shit

Posted by: kyle k at May 14, 2007 11:10 AM

every one shut the fuck up!!!!!!!!!!!!! just SHUT THE FUCK UP

Posted by: kirk at May 14, 2007 11:50 AM

casey, look up what 25.4mm means.
than come back and see that i'm right :)

anyway, those seats are going to kick ass.
are they shipped to punkdad allreaddy?

Posted by: possenier at May 14, 2007 12:17 PM

ANY IDEA WHEN THE YELLOW ATKKINS SEAT I COMING OUT AND WHAT POST IS BEST FOR IT - I USED TO RUN MACNEIL - SOME PUNK RUBBED IT!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: riz at May 14, 2007 12:29 PM

the intac is about 8 inches long with about 3-4 inches that need to be saved for the guts but the macneil is about 4 inches long with about 2 inches that need to be saved with no guts it's common sense now 2 inches with no guts or 4 inches with guts what's gonna be lighter dumbass that would bring the macneil down to an ounce and a half and the intac down to about 4 ounces? plus the macneil has a cleaner look and is way more comfortable and easy to work on so no matter which way you put it the macneil is a better seat combo and macneil sticks behind their customers just as good as odyssey that's why my bike is all odyssey and macneil accept for my khe rear hub (which is has to be cause i'm part of the freecoaster club and odyssey discontinued theirs),kink headset, primo spokes, and sun pedals

Posted by: Casey at May 14, 2007 01:09 PM

possenier i didn't write that shit about them being 25.4 long that was some retard using my name i know that 25.4 is the width

Posted by: Casey at May 14, 2007 01:14 PM

i don't want to discuss this any more. you can not compare a intac with a stups seat post. thats like saying your KHE freecoaster is heavier than a vandero hub.

Posted by: possenier at May 14, 2007 01:32 PM

that made no sense at all my KHE is way heavier than a vandero hub why would you compare a rear hub to a vandero front hub anyways

Posted by: Casey at May 14, 2007 01:47 PM

wen do the fat aitken tires the 2.25 rear 1s come out in britain i really want 1. and yea pivitol would be an awsome idea, denim junior pivitol seat would be my perfect seat :).reply about the tires.

Posted by: ant of england at May 14, 2007 01:57 PM

sorry i couldnt say ple*ase because of questionable content

Posted by: ant of england at May 14, 2007 01:58 PM

possenier is trying to say its like comparing a cat to a dog, their not the same thing right, only problem with this metaphor is that what we are comparing is the same thing, they're both seat posts and seats.

oh and when are trailmix pedals coming out?

Posted by: seth at May 14, 2007 02:04 PM

thank you for explaining that to me seth you're very lucky you have the same name as seth kimbrough who is in fact god but back on subject now that i understand the concept of what you were trying to say possenier i can now feel comfortable by calling you a fucking idiot

Posted by: Casey at May 14, 2007 02:10 PM

you guys are fuckin losers tryin to be me the only comment I(the real kirk) left was the 18th one about the balance rims but i didnt mind the PLEGSPLEGSPLEGS!! one. weight does not matter much much to me my bike only weighs 28 pounds flat. my friend raymond has a 27 pound bike and he shreds harder than my friend kyle who has a 21 pound bike but kyle is more tech. and wethefeeble can choke on a big fat hotdog sayin fuck plegs.

Posted by: kirk at May 14, 2007 04:29 PM

Will this be avalible on dans?

Posted by: Frank at May 16, 2007 08:56 PM

wow, these comments are really hilarious! why does it matter what seat someone else runs? if you dont want your seat to slip, but dont mind a small selection of styles, and you arent scared of the snapping rumers, get a macneil. if you dont mind a lil slipping every once and a while and like selection and more nose strength, get a normal one. you can basically get them both too weigh like the same, and really you cant feel an ounce or two, so who cares! i no it adds up buuut, its a bmx bike, not a carbon fibre time trial bike. ok? i ride a macneil.

Posted by: scott at May 17, 2007 07:53 AM

tell them SCOTT , MACNEIL SEAT POST COMBO ARE THE BEST, i run the Fat capital all black 10x comfy than odyssey and same weight. WETHEFREEK TRY PARKING YOUR ASS ON ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
