SEAFOAM KIT

We've been busy round here, hence the lack of updates. This one should be worth it though.

We got a shipment in with a bunch of sweet stuff.

One set of new items is the Seafoam Green Limited line:
Civilian Svelte hi/lo bars
Classic Race/Dirt forks
and the first of the powdercoated "brakeless" rims.

We have to check it all out and ship it, so expect to see it in stores in about 2 weeks.

Man, I really really want these. I saw Fudger's bike with this color and it looked amazing.

Posted by: Brad at November 15, 2006 05:41 PM

I'd love to see some wombolts in that color.

Posted by: don at November 15, 2006 11:31 PM

Yeah man, That color would render me weird amongst the bmxer's I ride with. How about WHITE 7k's and Wombolt's!

Posted by: stlnbkr at November 16, 2006 06:32 AM

How much more are the seafoam hazard lites going to cost than the regular hazard lites?

Posted by: Chris at November 16, 2006 07:50 AM

my friend would have a ball over these

Posted by: alex at November 16, 2006 08:19 AM

How bout a green junior seat

Posted by: zach at November 16, 2006 10:35 AM

Yes- they are beautiful.

I know you are, but what am I.

You can't anodize chromoly.

Fudgers bike: I have not seen it together, I bet its sweet.

Wombolts will not be coming in this color, but probably the next limited color. White will be a regular production color in 07.

You are scared of standing out? Be proud of it.

Painted rims should be slighty more.

The Seafoam/Orange was the first limited JR saddle. Missed it.

Hi... i suppose this comment goes to Jim. I really like and think that odyssey is about the most innovative and prehaps the best company out there in all aspects. But I am dissapointed to see that the prices of your rims have jumped greatly. Isn't Odyssey supposed to be about "great products, for an affordable price?" The prices of the rims are high above the price of the vast majority of other companies'. Can you tell me why you raised these prices? It clearly can't be that you weren't making a profit because everyone and their mom has Odyssey parts. Also, have you ever considered making a frame? I think your creativity and great designs could create something totally unique and incredible.
Thanks,
Zach

zach, thanks for the question.

We do not just raise prices blindly out of nowhere and for no reason. once or twice a year we get charged more for materials from the manufacturers as material costs increase. Sometimes we absorb it, but we can only absorb so much before we have to increase prices.

Also, using higher grade material such as 7000 series aluminum, and the material used for the G-Sport ribcage rims which is more expensive to begin with, ends up looking really pricey over a while, but the quality is worth it.

also, sometimes prices are lower than normal on the mailorder end, so when prices get updated (after material increases and so forth), it could look like a big jump.

Posted by: Nuno/Odyssey at November 16, 2006 07:27 PM

the middle rim is off center.

Posted by: Smith at November 16, 2006 08:07 PM

Thanks for the positive comments, we really appreciate it.

I think Nuno answered the question pretty well. We are usually taking less of a margin(profit) than most to keep these items at their most affordable prices. They may be more expensive than "most" rims, but "most" rims are of a far lower quality, and will not last as long.

Thanks
JIM

Posted by: jay at November 18, 2006 08:51 AM

Posted by: belnapp at November 18, 2006 06:30 PM

Posted by: belnapp at November 19, 2006 08:20 AM

Those bars and fork will look great with my seafoam pedals.

Posted by: Tom From Iowa at November 19, 2006 07:06 PM

How long do you guys plan on making the classic races in this color? Or is this just going to be a limited time offer? I really would like these forks but I don't see myself having the money for like a month...

Posted by: Brad at November 23, 2006 06:16 PM
