Vandero 2

News of the Vandero 2 accidentally popped up on Bikeguide a few weeks ago.

The hub should be available in mid 2007.

Details:

The Vandero 2 is over three ounces lighter than the original Vandero, with only a minimal change in the suggested retail price. Employing G-Sport axle technology, this is essentially a mix of the Vandero and the Marmoset. What's the difference? The Marmoset has a stronger axle, bigger bearings and uses the highest quality materials available. The Vandero 2 is a more affordable alternative that will also be incorporated into many of our factory built wheels.

- 17mm 7075-T6 helicoiled aluminum axle
- 3/8" G-Sport axle bolts with 17mm wrench flats (sold separately)
- 2014-T6 forged Vandero hub shell (36-H only)
- 7075-T6 collars
- 8.5 ounces (weight includes all hardware)
- Black and Limited Editions

17mm axle?can i run that with a 10mm fork?it's sad that till it arrives here it will be too expensive...

Posted by: mennyus at October 5, 2006 01:10 PM

The bolts are 3/8". This is what sits in the axle slot. The axle that the bolt threads into is 17mm.

Posted by: rick at October 6, 2006 03:54 PM

Weeeee, Maxi likes it a lot.

Posted by: Maxi at October 6, 2006 04:16 PM

17mm un helicoiled axle. not fatty collars like the marmoset..

ITS A PROFILE MINI only half price, good work oddy

Posted by: cankles at October 6, 2006 08:53 PM

cool so it will probally be around $55, i already have a marmoset but i would proball buy the vandero2 if i had to get a new wheel built.
but why didn't you make the shell out of 7075, then it would be just like the profile but cheaper and stronger and made by odyssey which just makes it better anyway.keep up the good work

Posted by: brian at October 7, 2006 07:45 AM

is there possibly a cassette like this in the works? oh, and will there be axle studs that you can thread a bolt on the outside of like the profiles?

Posted by: Drake at October 12, 2006 09:25 AM

damn, i've gotta admit that the Jc pedals suck dick man! 10 friends of mine including me got em on the same day n all of em stripped either the nut or the spinder without even tightening it. wtf? jc pedals suck. but there r stuff that rock too? like the vandero 1. it is hell great, kick ass for a tiny hub. pls redesign the pedal. pls

Posted by: Josh at October 13, 2006 10:20 AM

We've sold over 75,000 pairs of JC pedals in the last three years.

Clearly an “issue” like that is not normal or acceptable. All of our team riders use the pedals and we obviously use them too. I've never seen or heard of anything like that since the pedals went on sale.

As I’ve said many times, if you have a problem with one of our products, please contact us immediately via phone or e-mail.
