Million Dollar Sprocket (MDS)

The Six Million Dollar Man was an amusing sci-fi show from the 1970's that starred Lee Majors.

The Million Dollar Sprocket got its name because the prototypes were ridiculously expensive. Fortunately, the production versions are actually quite affordable. As of this writing it should be around 50 dollars for the sprocket.

This is a guard sprocket, with an secondary bolt-on guard (optional). It's designed to meet the demands of team riders like Matt Beringer, Adam Banton and our own R&D man, Ben Ward. Depending on the frame being used, the sprocket can usually be run with the integrated guard facing inward or outward, according to your personal preference.

- 7075-T6 sprocket
- 6061-T6 optional bolt-on guard
- 25, 28 and 30-T
- 5.5 ounces without guard (28-T)
- 9.0 ounces with guard (28-T)
- 15/16" spindle hole with 19mm adapter
- Black, Polished, Limited Editions

The MDS should be availble toward the end of the year if everything stays on schedule.

Haha. it's a fucking chain. Who cares? That sprocket is pretty slick. But people will probably still complain.

As for the sprocket... that's pretty cool, as with all of your products.

The chain comment was (supposedly) valid. I have the TSC interlock chain and there is a prescribed way to put it on the bike to reduce wear and stretch in the chain. Or something to that effect.

Peace.

That's pretty cool, running it inside out makes me finally want a guard sprocket. When will we get full profiles on the Vandero 2 and Lite Tires?

Oh, and what does the caption at the bottom of Lee's pic say?

Any chance of the optinal guard coming in 7075? And will there be a 25T version of this sprocket?

No one wants to ride the million dollar sprocket.

Lee Majors - not only an actor, but also a star American footballer. His athletic ability earned him a place at Indiana University.

I had most of the Six Million Dollar Man/ Woman toys back in the 70's, along with the lunchbox, sweaters, the works!

Oh yeah, nice sprocket!

shiny.

Sorry fellows, aesthetically I don't like it. Its so busy my eyes have to focus hard on it to figure out all the details.

I was really hoping for a sprocket from Odyssey that is less heavy on the details, nothing wrong with a simple flow look.

Other than that, I'm sure function-wise it's awesome, as all Odyssey products are.

i agree with MAURICE

Posted by: maligmat at October 6, 2006 12:35 AM

even though i don't want a full guard sprocket, finnaly a 7075 full guard sprocket besides the drive sprocket.i was wondering how long it take for someone else to make one.it looke so strong like you could jump off a house and sprocket bash a fence and it wouldn't break.keep up the good work

I'm from Colombia and I want to say that although we don't have the possibility to get the best parts made by Odyssey, I think that odyssey is a brand that always have a really good innovation on its products like million dollars chainwheel and its new fork that is coming soon " the direct one".

Odyssey. quite awesome trade brand
