Ribcage plus..

The Ribcages are here. 48H Chrome are the only ones that came in, with 36H and Hard Anodize black on the way. Look for them at your favorite shop in the next 2 weeks(QC/shipping to distributors/shipping to shops/etc)

Go check out www.gsportbmx.com for the new GSPORT website. George posted more info about the rims on there.

sick how many walls r they?

Posted by: buttweiner at March 31, 2006 03:13 AM

to buttweiner. stupid question about a stupid thing. the amount of walls doesnt really tell us much. well between single and double it does but after that its a hazy pile of horseshit. double wall means there is 2 wall where the spoke goes so the spoke is recessed in. but triple wall would generally mean there is 3 layers? NO! the only rim i have ever seen to have 3 actual walls is the supra j. other rims such as supra e and original hazards really only had 2 horizontal walls going across them even though they where much stronger, so alex decided to call the supra e triple wall even though it wasnt so after that big cities supra e's and hazards were all known as triple wall due to the strength, not the actual amount of walls which in my opinion is wrong, the numpre of wall when its above 2 is bullshit and hardly an indicator of strength at all. ADD TO THAT the fact that rims(including this one) started using far superior grades of alloy further increasing strength to those fat bastards. alex rims is the one who came up wityh the triple wall bullshit, they know nothink about bmxers, theyre always 1 step behind in my opinion, and triple wall was theyre first "real" breakthrough and its all bollocks forget it ever happened!!

but to answer your question truthfully, this is double wall but is far stronger than most rims on the market including "triple" wall

jim b!im sorry about that my last comment sounded angry, i couldnt post the second part of it for some reason, i dunno why.the fly cranks are going to be 760gramms.my old crank sounds/looks/feels really bad.so i went to my 'local' shop to ask whether they know something about the wombolts cause i've heard something about that they going to be out in late in april or early in may.well, i have not thought that the info is serious but i was surprised because i haved to explain even what is wombolts!the boss have never even heard about it.well, he's an asshole anyway but im really want those cranks:)and if you could post some details about it i'd be really happy, and i'd stand the time of waiting easier.
uh.sorry about the english.

hey guys rims look wicked but just one question is the black rim good fore brake use like the duralectra ?
how mutch is the rims ?
and what rim would you comper whit in a strength contest and
weigth
thanks..

Posted by: tate at April 2, 2006 03:28 PM

The black rims are hard anodised, so yes good for braking. Similar to duralectra but cheaper.

The ribcage will build into a similar strength wheel to a Midway or Big City, but the sidewalls arent quite as strong. Though obviously it is a lot lighter...
