More Mike

Speaking of Mr. Aitken, when he gets back from South Africa, he will get to see his most recent sample of his new seat. Hope he doesn't mind if I ride til till he's back.

Mike also won the Road Fools internet vote spot (along with Ryan Sher) to go on the next Road Fools. Its what you've all been waiting for. I'm sure Mike and Ryan will shred like they always do. Congratulations yous two.

It looks like one of those seats you would find on an old mongoose or huffy. It looks good.

nice seat! but what it's made of?

Posted by: chinewa at November 1, 2005 08:01 PM

i like the internal clamp on ur bike jim

Posted by: captkickass at November 1, 2005 08:04 PM

I've heard bad things for internal seatclamps. Didn't Mountain biking try that technology? It's said that if you loosen and tighten the seatpost too much, or even overtighten the clamp, the metal will eventually stretch on the clamping piece, eventually breaking the internal clamp, basically making the frame scrap metal. No good. Or is the clamp garaunteed to never break? At least with a regular clamp you can break it and it can be replaced without sacrificing the whole frame. Just looking to get some get some feedback on the whole idea.

seat reminds me of old crappy huffy seats and ghetto trash ones. im sure its nice but its just so ugly. i think im going with the senior

Posted by: amigo 2 at November 1, 2005 11:22 PM

Mtn bikes used them until they started using Aluminum frames. Aluminum is softer and more easily "pinched" or stretched.

Chromoly should last a good time longer.

The seat is meant to look like old school diamond/padded seats.

More details on this seat (size, weight, cover material, hollow rails or not, etc.) Also, when are you planning to release the kevlar-type SENIOR seat? I am in desperate need of a new seat but waiting for a kevlar covered senior or now possibly this seat. Thanks odyssey!
