Adams Color...

teal?

Nothing says early 90's Like Metallic Teal/Turqouise. During this time there were waiting lists on IROC Z's and Civics in this color. You HAD to get your new car in this "cutting edge color". As fast as trends rise, they fall. Nothing brings down the resale value of your car as this color. Maybe like the neon 8O's this era will return. So get em before the trend re-strikes! The newest JC limited edition color is dedicated to Adams car, and anyone who remembers the "Teal Tide" of the early 90's.

shipping now.

Posted by: vitaweed at August 26, 2005 10:49 PM

now you just have to come out with a line of your parts in that color to match it all up. i think the post-it yellow jc's are real nice, how you get those threadless pins? can you buy them separate?

Posted by: 3MTA3 at August 26, 2005 10:51 PM

odyssey u are late i saw him with those pedals 3 weeks ago

Posted by: gary k at August 26, 2005 11:14 PM

It used to be that I heard about all your stuff coming soon before it came out, straight from this site. Just today though, I already saw the pedals before you had this post over at the Goods BMX shop. And I'm hearing about you shipping out with new color cables soon too, is this false, or are you just late in letting us know the news? So far I've heard green is first, and then might come orange, yellow, and purple.

Posted by: Brewsky at August 27, 2005 02:30 AM

that color is pretty sweet

threadless topped pins?

Posted by: fit ryder at August 27, 2005 07:38 PM

i like it, you need teal bars forks + seat posts to go along with it...pea green would look good too

Posted by: cole at August 27, 2005 08:56 PM

When will we be able to buy those pins seperately?

Posted by: Aleks at August 27, 2005 10:27 PM

...okay what is the deal about product being out there before you even post it? some one needs to tighten up that one...

but seriously, when is the light brown/tan leather seat going to come out for purchase. i saw scott last night and he had one on his bike and i am so ready to get that seat.

Posted by: 3MTA3 at August 28, 2005 04:27 PM

Glad you guys like the color. It was kinda a joke at first, about me having a teal sports car (it IS an EX!). But that's just the way I roll. Cutting Edge Color with the joke on me. I heard Scott Foster was painting his Neon that color too...........?

Posted by: Adam at August 28, 2005 05:19 PM

I heard Teal is the new girl jeans of BMX.

I heard Teal is the new girl jeans of BMX.

Posted by: Master Splinter at August 28, 2005 05:21 PM

Hey Adam, let's go on a shanking spree and shank anyone with a non-teal Civic, that would put the joke on everone without teal then...

Or you could just put out a Teal pedal and everyone who does not have a Teal Civic could just get a set of pedals...

Still a newspaper reading Adam Banton shanks some punks with a black civic would be funny to the MAX.

I just noticed today that I used to have mostly Odyssey parts on my bike and now I have none, maybe I should support the return of Civic teal by buying Odyssey pedals... Hmmm?

Posted by: LazelDazel at August 29, 2005 04:49 AM

If you saw Adams bike he has had the teal pedals on his bike, and he gave a pair to kevin porter, so if you saw thier bikes you saw the prototype and the first pair out of the box.

If you work "in the industry" ie at a distributor, they have some information first.

Scotts seat is a prototype that is in production now(with slight changes).

Posted by: jl at August 31, 2005 04:30 PM

you know you guys could always just paint your parts teal instead of asking for bars and forks... i mean i'm sure odyssey doesnt use some super light weight paint

Posted by: Ryan at September 1, 2005 06:31 AM

Yeah, but keep in mind Odyssey's paint comes on new stuff, and people love new stuff.

Posted by: Laz at September 1, 2005 09:15 AM

the civic has czech registration plate:) how did you get picture of czech civic?

Posted by: Jan at September 1, 2005 03:14 PM

most parts are powder coated and not painted... it's really hard to do powdercoating yourself and i am sure your mother doesnt want you to use the kitchen oven for the baking process. spray paint sucks. people want the bars and forks to match the pedals, its pretty easy to figure out, it looks way better if they are all professionally done. bmx bikes look pretty whack when fools get stupid with a can of krylon.

Posted by: 3mta3 at September 1, 2005 08:04 PM

I think I'd still rather have some JC's that were even half-way grippy as opposed to some which happened to match X part on my bike?

The other 3 riders in my area have all tried my JC's and they've all had problems with them just being slippy as greased turd. That's with a variety of shoes and so on too, so it's not just a haggered old shoe problem. My brother even took a fairly harsh slam just because his front foot slid off the pedal leading to some pretty savage rib-cage/bar interface.

Either way, they seem to work for other people and the fad-loving BMXers of the world (about 90% of all BMXers covered there?) will probably lap this up, so kudos for Odyssey's pretty keen business sense I guess...

Posted by: Mark Westlake at September 2, 2005 01:46 AM

There's obviously a lot of riders that don't agree with the "too slippery" take on the pedal. Pros that we don't sponsor or flow parts to ride the pedal by choice, and I can assure you that the great majority of them aren't doing it to keep up with "fads" (and they're certainly not going to put up with slipping the pedals unexpectedly on regular occasions).

The bottomline is that the amount of grip on the platform is what JC was looking for. It addresses his needs. He's said many times that this is the first pedal that he can actually ride right out of the box without "wearing" them in first.

If his needs don't mesh with another rider's, then there's bound to be another pedal out there that would suits them better.

Posted by: Chris Cotsonas at September 2, 2005 07:52 PM

Hey Chris,

I know what you're saying about the JC pedal and I fully accept that. I just meant that I found it too slippy, which was a bit gutting after spending that money on them. Either way, another lesson.

I'm sure I'll find my ideal pedal one day. Getting a bit unicorn-style now though :-\

I wasn't refering to your flow/pro riders as following "fads" either, moreover there are kids out there who just buy up that stuff just because it's "new" and "limited edition" and it's the in thing to have. Nothing wrong with that if they can pay the bills though I guess.

Either way, like I said, I knew that there was a great majority of people who dig the pedals, I just don't happen to be one of them. I really like the size, look and feel of the pedal, it's just that they didn't give me enough grip.

C'est la vie.

Posted by: Mark W at September 3, 2005 11:08 PM

Mark, you DO know that odyssey sells longer pins in the store, right? So if you like everything about the pedal except the grip, why not fix the problem with longer pins?

Posted by: brewsky at September 4, 2005 06:39 AM

Will the new svelte dirt forks come in any colors other than black?

Posted by: Tim at September 4, 2005 12:42 PM

I'd tried taking the longer, side pins out of the 'underside' of my pedals and put them in place of the stubbier pins at the fore and aft of the pedal, and it didn't really make much difference. The "Long" pins in the Store appear to just be the side pins, which seem to be 'longer' than the fore and aft pins, having compared the two.

Posted by: Mark W at September 4, 2005 10:27 PM

It doesn't really look like the JC pedals come with very long pins so if and when i get them (theyre next in line) ill have to try em out.

Posted by: Lucas at September 5, 2005 02:44 AM

please stop with the caps

Posted by: jim B at September 6, 2005 05:26 PM

some people are really gay. stop moaning about people not updating the website; theres better things to do. go and ride your bike, and if your that worried about coloured parts, dont buy them, or spray your forks black. your gay.

Posted by: arnold at September 6, 2005 07:48 PM

slippery jc's:
take out all the pins in your pedals, clean all the grease and dirt off the pedals, then wipe them down with some rubbing alcohol.

take some griptape and stick it where your foot goes on one or both sides, use a file or knife to get rid of excess griptape off the sides and the insides of pedals. if you do alotta pedal grinds, you maybe jus wanna do one side.

then poke out the holes where your pins thread through, put the pedals back on your bike.

maybe hella ghetto but it gives you more grip, as you may have read this already read this tip in BMXPLUS, it also works for alot of platform pedals out there.

i personally havent had any problems with slippage with these pedals so i have not done it myself.

Posted by: 3mta3 at September 6, 2005 11:12 PM

it just goes to show how some biker comments about a website and then a "moron" i wont mention your name arnold... ok. ok. has to go and judge a person by saying that db biker something is gay, so whats wrong with wanting a killer website. i bike the net alot and the majority of the bmx sites i go to are crap. and then there are alot of really good ones, i dont see nothing wrong with complaining about a website when the website sucks. as a matter of fact arny, db biker something was with your sister last night and wanted to pass her down but i dont take sloppy seconds.
