Posted by: kink4life at September 30, 2003 02:19 PM

Posted by: yaya at September 30, 2003 02:36 PM

Posted by: Deez Nutzz at September 30, 2003 05:29 PM

I like brown frames and that brown might look alot cooler in real life because i see it as black or a really dark brown barely...ya its a nice bike tho, one thing i would liek to know is which way does mikey spin? I see him doin lookbacks to the way left spinners go and doin turndowns to the right...but i see him spin to the left and lay flatttttt! flattys to the right...hes all out maaaddd on them opp. flattys!

Posted by: mn_bmx at September 30, 2003 07:34 PM

Mikey Mikey Mikey! Mikey rules. I live in Australia so I've never seen him ride in person, but a mate of mine (Luke Fink) was at the CFB a couple month ago and filmed some raw footage of him, seeing raw footage of a rider is heaps better than edited comp footage. Mikey rules!

Posted by: Dao at September 30, 2003 07:43 PM

mike aitken can actually spin both ways with ease but his normal way is to the left altho it should be to the right, people think hes goofy footed but he runs left side pegs too, he just spins the wrong way because hes cool lke that. and that is brown its really dark anmd it does look badass in the light

Posted by: poop at September 30, 2003 07:48 PM

Ya its a cool brown i was looking at it at the triple crown last weekend. I set my bike down in the dirtjumps and i looked over and it was mikeys bike it looked badass.

someone told me that the people at odyssey are "bible thumpers" ( i didn't say that and think its rude). I don't care if you are but I was just wondering.believe in what you want to. keep the parts coming and have you ever thought about limited ed grips and brake cables? like brown, pink, olive, blaze orange, yellow ,white, neon green? I think neon green, pink and orange cables would look sweet.

thanks,

Posted by: ?? at October 1, 2003 11:48 AM

Personal religious beliefs should not be allowed to influence office environment, and the certainly aren't present here in any way.

I have no idea where your friend got the "bible thumper" idea from.

Yeah, his bike is aight, but I have the best bike in the entire world.

Posted by: James at October 1, 2003 11:22 PM

Ya neon green brake cables would look awesome with the pedals, if you do decide to make them, make sure they are the linear cables cuz they are much better than regular ones.

Posted by: downwithbrown at October 1, 2003 11:59 PM

I like clear cable housings on Gyro cables.

Posted by: Dao at October 2, 2003 01:18 AM

Neon green brake cables can be had. They were made in the 80's... although a linear version would be nice. Click on the link below.

Posted by: click on me to see a neon green brake cable. at October 4, 2003 12:01 PM

since I thought of the great idea maybe I could test the neon green cable out? and I forgive you for putting out that pyro sprocket back in the day. it lasted a week. lol

Posted by: ?? at October 4, 2003 06:03 PM

That neon green cable is not an Odyssey product.

Posted by: Rocker at October 5, 2003 12:29 PM

thats a sweet green cable, ODYSSEY NEEDS TO MAKE ONE!!!!!

Posted by: greenmachine at October 5, 2003 11:44 PM

They should make glow-in-the-dark cables for streetriders that mostly ride at night...now THAT would be blingbling!

Posted by: Dao at October 6, 2003 12:42 AM

when are the white odyssey pedals going to come out?

Posted by: xan at October 6, 2003 04:34 PM

nice bike Aitken. I think brown is a pretty cool color for frames and I think that brown celinski pedals would be a good compliment to your frame.

Posted by: ilean dover at October 6, 2003 10:03 PM

30th s&m sprocket? will they ever be avalible to the public?

Posted by: joe at October 7, 2003 03:41 AM

blah, he has 13 odyssey parts if you count the rims and hubs seperate, thats alot of odyssey stuff, blah you dont know what your talking about.

Posted by: rideAkink at October 9, 2003 10:55 PM

As if it matters? He could run just an Odyssey sticker on his downtube and not run any Odyssey parts, and he'd still be awesome advertising for them! He's one of the world's sickest riders at the moment, he's all over the magazines, so Odyssey should be proud of him (and I'm sure they are).

The amount of riders that have certain parts sponsors but run certain things such as Profile cassettes, Solid headsets etc. are running products that aren't made by their sponsors, but it's personal preference, if they haven't signed a contract FORBIDDING them from running other products, there isn't much that their sponsors can do.

Odyssey obviously are very happy with the way Mikey advertises their product and treats their reputation, otherwise they'd drop him! Simple as that.

Posted by: Dao at October 9, 2003 11:15 PM

Posted by: john vandever the 3( also known as van homan) at October 11, 2003 10:49 AM

Posted by: nick at October 28, 2003 08:18 PM

I never said that, I'm saying THERE IS NO BEST RIDER! I don't really like Mike Aitken that much anyways.... I like to watch street riders like: George Dossantos, Edwin DeLaRosa, Wiz, Brian Castillo etc.. don't just limit yourself to one style of riding.

For it is esteemed a kind of dishonour unto learning to descend to inquiry or meditation upon matters mechanical, except they be such as may be thought secrets, rarities, and special subtilities, which humour of vain supercilious arrogancy is justly derided in Plato. But the truth is, they be not the highest instances that give the securest information, as may well be expressed in the tale of the philosopher, that while he gazed upwards to the stars fell into the water, for if he had looked down he might have seen the stars in the water, but looking aloft he could not see the water in the stars.

The men of experiment are like the ant, they only collect and use, the reasoners resemble spiders, who make cobwebs out of their own substance. But the bee takes the middle course, it gathers its material from the flowers of the garden and field, but transforms and digests it by a power of its own. Not unlike this is the true business of philosophy, for it neither relies solely or chiefly on the powers of the mind, nor does it take the matter which it gathers from natural history and mechanical experiments and lay up in the memory whole, as it finds it, but lays it up in the understanding altered and disgested.

By means of prolonged processes of mathematics, entirely separate from the senses, astronomers are able to calculate when an eclipse will occur. They predict by pure reason that a black spot will pass across the sun on a certain day. You go and look, and your sense of sight immediately tells you that their calculations are vindicated. So here you have the evidence of the senses reinforced by the entirely separate evidence of a vast independent process of mathematical reasoning. We have taken what is called in military map making a cross bearing.

Some fishes become extinct, but Herrings go on forever. Herrings spawn at all times and places and nothing will induce them to change their ways. They have no fish control. Herrings congregate in schools, where they learn nothing at all. They move in vast numbers in May and October. Herrings subsist upon Copepods and Copepods subsist upon Diatoms and Diatoms just float around and reproduce. Young Herrings or Sperling or Whitebait are rather cute. They have serrated abdomens.

Only gradually did I realize that this lack of qualification could be an advantage. By the time most scientists have reached age thirty they are trapped by their own expertise. They have invested so much effort in one particular field that it is often extremely difficult, at that time in their careers, to make a radical change. I, on the other hand, knew nothing, except for a basic training in somewhat old fashioned physics and mathematics and an ability to turn my hand to new things.

Like many other crucially important technologies, hay emerged anonymously during the so called Dark Ages. According to the Hay Theory of History, the invention of hay was the decisive event which moved the center of gravity of urban civilization from the Mediterranean basin to Northern and Western Europe. The Roman Empire did not need hay because in a Mediterranean climate the grass grows well enough in winter for animals to graze.
