I’ve had my high polished 30t vermont for about four months now, and for some reason the polish has become very tarnished and not even chrome polish will take it off. What’s going on here

I’ve always felt slightly guilty for not running a Vermont sprocket seeing as I live there, but hey, I’d wanted an Animal sprocket for years, so I just had to go there. Hopefully running your brakes/forks/headset/pedals/and tires makes up for it!
Where can I find a 27-Tooth MDS Sprocket? I’ve been checking the web and can’t find any, but for some reason can find 27-Tooth MDS Inner Guards. Thanks
