Amongst the 1:42 second frames there is a good look of the mount. You can see the springs on each side of what looks to be some a custom washer of sorts. It would also probably have 2 holes in it for the end of the spring to mount in. 2 springs 2 holes.. derr. These were probably presprung in opposite directions with what we could call the "riser arms" before mounting to what we could call the "base block." It looks like he drill and used a trheaded insert in 2 locations of the board mathing those on the 'base block' bolted up the mounts, locked on to the axle and rocked it like he knows how to ;) I like this a lot. It much more simple as a unit as to being compared to other "snowbikes" out there. Basically it IS a super fast and slick way of going from a regular wheel set to skis. btw, my email is bl4ckh4t@gmail.com and we're running out of work here and I WANT A JOB! Sorry Matt :P j/k but that really is my email.

....and I would really like to stress that the comment "All the way around though, great design" comment IS NOT saying anything bad. From the many "homemade" designs for a "ski bike" that I have seen this is BY FAR the best. His mount paired up with any short skiboards (like some old line boards) would be the perfect combo. Especially with the 4 x 4 mounting pattern on the boards.

I do not believe those mounts we're ever put into production. As it is said under the video "The ski mounts are custom built by Matt and they’re dialed!" They are a custom fabrication by himself... and in my opinion a very good one. I work in an engineering department doing process development and CNC programming. I've watched this video numerous times pausing it where you can see the mounts. Let me say one of the key components in his design is the spring keeping the ski as level as possible. Without this you have MUCH more potential of catching a tip when landing if you get enough air. All the way around though, great design. Especially from a custom fab proto aspect. ;)

matt's idea isn't a new one, expecially his latest setup, but I give him mad props for the time he's put into them.

you can buy the mounts online somewhere, but they're a bit pricey, like $400 or something, which isn't terrible considering the prices of wheels these days. just look around the web a bit and you can find them.

matt if you read this, next time i see you at a park i'm going to ask you about building me some.
