Matt Beringer bmx overhaul

Matt Beringer e-mailed us a bike check today along with a couple of photos. With winter coming to an end, it looks like he’s getting his bicycle dialed for the warmer days ahead. Aside from a couple parts here and there, he’s pretty much taken apart his whole bike, for one thorough overhaul. Click the pics to make ‘em big.

i did this a couple of weeks ago. realized that i had 8 broken spokes in my back wheel. it’s a great way to make sure everything’s running smooth.

WD-40, seriously?! WTF Beringer? And I heard rumors about you being dialed and shit. pedros, tri-flow, park tools… shit even white lightening… anything but WD-40!

  • Jizmo ( April 2nd, 2009 at 10:37 pm ):

the WD-40 is probably for degreasing.

  • Beringer ( April 3rd, 2009 at 1:43 am ):

Me, Cam Wood, and Tate Roskelly rode our bikes on the Salt flats with an inch of water. Salt seized every bearing on my bike, WD-40 is the only thing I had that would make them move again. I probably won’t ever be able to true my wheels again because all my spoke nipples are probably stuck.
175 cranks arent as good for cranking hard or long bike rides but they make some backwards stuff easier.

I had that same couch when I was a kid! That might be IT.

Sorry Beringer, I forgot that you live in Utah. We don’t have those same problems down here in the FLA :)

I bought the same no-flange Beringer grips a couple of weeks ago. Best grips I’ve had. Love them.
