About the flipbook above:

There are a lot of Flatware products currently in the prototype stages and Terry Adam’s ride has just about all of them. Check out his bike check above to get a full list and a closer look. Also, if that shirt looks familiar, it’s the Frequency G tire pattern shirt we posted about a while ago.

that bike is dope! can’t wait to scope the production model.

  • Kevin ( February 16th, 2009 at 10:14 pm ):

Excited about all the Flatware stuff that will be coming out.
    Twombolts in shorter sizes.
Hope you do a pivital flat seat and a director fork with 990 mounts.

  • spacebagel ( February 17th, 2009 at 3:27 am ):

    Director forks with 990 mounts?

Why not cantilever mounts for low profile cantilevers George French style?! Lighter, more out of the way, none of that wasteful looped brake cable.

It’s the ONLY sensible solution for front brakes on a BMX!

By the way is that an ISIS interface I’m seeing at the ends of those plegs?!

By the way that protuding headset makes me CRINGE!

This is going to start a new trend in frame designs even in street/park frames as everyone else will jump on the bandwagon.

BAD BAD DIRECTION BMX IS GOING!

  • B-real ( February 17th, 2009 at 5:42 am ):

Those pegs look awesome, what’s the specs on them, and when will they be out?

  • smuggler ( February 17th, 2009 at 5:43 am ):

    Dear Odyssey,

I want to smuggle some drugs inside Odyssey forks to Zimbabwe, will it void my warranty?

  • Logan ( February 17th, 2009 at 2:38 pm ):

That is totaly awesome! I’m going to have to get me some of that.

  • zach thorne ( February 17th, 2009 at 7:41 pm ):

blue rims please and ive heard some thingsa bout a g-coaster deatils please

  • bikedog ( February 17th, 2009 at 10:15 pm ):

the frame looks a lot like stuff sunday has helped develop, like the 1 piece wishbone, stay caps, and the shaved headtube. possibly hollow dropouts too?
the bar height setup doesn’t make sense to me though, bars not super tall but plenty of spacers and a zero rise stem?
and how different from the chase bars are they? how different is this proto fork from the one in production? no 3/8″ g-coaster? kind of baffled.

  • bikedog ( February 17th, 2009 at 10:18 pm ):

oh yeah it’s about time odyssey made a headset again. it’s been ages.
    Maybe sealed needle bearings?

  • ben ( February 17th, 2009 at 11:42 pm ):

    The frames current geometry is:

    18.90″ TT
    11.80″ BB Height
    12.48″ Slammed Rear Length
    75° Headtube
    72° Seattube

There also is no Wishbone on the frame and the dropouts are straight forward and 4mm thick. More info when we have it. Thanks for the comments.-ben

  • ben ( February 17th, 2009 at 11:46 pm ):

Quick note about the Shaved Headtube.

This has been tested for quite a long time now in the harshest of street riding conditions and works amazing and holds up really good. As in, you never notice it and it hasn’t been an issue. It is simply removing material that is not needed and does nothing. With that being said, we figured it would be a good place to save weight and allow us to add it to the areas where it would be important.-ben

  • bikedog ( February 18th, 2009 at 8:22 pm ):

thanks Ben for the info you have. The glare off the right chainstay makes it look like there’s a tiny wishbone, or maybe it’s a bridge? 72 degree seattube? apparently there are a few of us who ride street with shorter flatland frames. hopefully the final product fits the aitken 2.25 tire yet have enough room for a 25-28 tooth sprocket, although i don’t think that’s completely possible.

  • ben ( February 19th, 2009 at 4:50 pm ):

This is a “hardcore” (for lack of a better term) flat frame. A lot of riders run 1.75″ tires and the micro-drives is what makes a 12.5″ rear end possible. This frame also is NOT recommended for street riding. It is not made for that in any way.

  • Quenton ( February 20th, 2009 at 1:36 am ):

I would buy the bike almost exactly as is. The only changes I’d make are: Chrome Rims, Rear Breaks, and the G-Sport Freecoaster.

  • Xeli ( February 20th, 2009 at 2:46 am ):

    Wooow looks awesome

  • king sunny ( February 20th, 2009 at 12:02 pm ):

  • GroundcontrolBMX » Terry Adams Bike Check ( March 10th, 2009 at 6:46 am ):

[...] Frame design looks to be really good, there are no silly bends, the down tube looks great. But it does seem to have short chain stays, supprising since there seems to be more and more demand for longer frames. Although Terry is a small rider then we should probably see a longer frame from Chase? This is a prototype so it will be nice to see the final F&F up close when it is released.
