Don’t call the Ratchet a cassette. There isn’t a “cassette” of cogs here, just a rock solid one-piece driver. Every component has been designed from the ground up to be as smooth and solid as possible. The pawls and ratchet ring are oversize, and because the driver and hub both run on the famously stiff 20mm G-Sport axle, everything will always be held in strict alignment.

» 3 oversize pawls running in low-drag pivot cavities.
» 3 independent long-travel springs.
» Spring and pawl retention system ensures optimum alignment of pawls and drive ring, and keeps the hardware securely in place during routine maintenance.
» Oversize ratchet ring with square tooth profile for easy left/right drive switching.
» 20mm, hollow, helicoiled axles in steel (14mm bolts) or aluminum (3/8” bolts). All bolts feature a 17mm hex-head and 6mm Allen slot.
» 10 tooth chromoly drivers with a unique needle-roller and plain-location bearing arrangement for unsurpassed durability.
» 2 oversized cartridge bearings in the hub shell.
» Threadless, press-on axle collars.
» All hubs work LHD or RHD “out of the box” without special parts or complicated modifications.
Lifetime warranty on steel axles.
» 1lb 3.9oz

    RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTCCCCCCCHHHHHHEEEEEEET!
    When can I get it?

  • gsport george ( September 27th, 2008 at 11:04 am ):

We still dont have a FIRM release date, and we wont until we litterally have them in our hands and have inspected them all, which will be within days of release.

We are obviously sorry about the time these have taken, but the whole point of our ride testing is to react and respond to the issues that come up. As a result of the ride testing we have made a couple of minor alterations to the design to consolidate the awesome durability and make maintenance even simpler.

  • keith ( September 27th, 2008 at 6:28 pm ):

I can’t believe people were saying that these were a myth! I think it’s worth the wait if they take a long time to get here because then I know for sure that they will work well.

  • gsport george ( September 30th, 2008 at 10:09 am ):

The Ratchet uses the same basic axle and bearing system as the old Homer hub, these have proved to be incredibly durable for peg use over the 10 years or so that they have been available… the axle is guaranteed for LIFE against bending or snapping regardless of peg use etc… Remember, that this is a 14mm bolt going into a 20mm axle…

  • Charly ( September 30th, 2008 at 7:41 pm ):

we need more pics from the cogg and how it works, thanks.

  • louis ( October 2nd, 2008 at 7:00 am ):

ok thx , jus wonderin cuz the last hub i had waz 3-pce and the studs bent the inner axle and i culdnt remove the driver :S anyway yea , i’ll buy a ratchet 4 SURE :D :D :D

  • chadd ( October 4th, 2008 at 8:38 pm ):

will it come in 36h and 48h? cause i have a bad time with 36h plus its way more maintenance with constant truing of the wheel

    RELEASE THE HOUNDS!

  • parkerfresh ( October 7th, 2008 at 5:33 pm ):

il take one in black, 36h, 9t… some of your splendid spokes and lace it to a midway… then i will have a wheel that i can just forget about

    get these bastards out now!

  • aaron ( October 7th, 2008 at 6:18 pm ):

i want the gold odyssey rims to come out!

  • Tristan ( October 25th, 2008 at 11:15 pm ):

c’mon, you guys have been talking about this one for how long now?!!

will they come with the driver installed? if so will it be lhd or rhd in the box…

and how long after release will 9t be out, I know it makes the bearings smaller but I need it to run a higher ratio…

  • RalphiNYC ( November 18th, 2008 at 8:32 pm ):

This hub is bananas. George Sport does it again.

  • OdysseyBMX.com / Daily Word » Blog Archive » G-Sport Ratchet Hub Update ( November 20th, 2008 at 6:24 pm ):

[...] a quick bit of news; G-Sport Ratchet Hubs are in stock now and will begin shipping to US distributors [...]

  • Stephen G ( November 20th, 2008 at 7:59 pm ):

Slide on hubguards to replace non-drive cones?

  • Steve ( November 20th, 2008 at 8:07 pm ):

I think one dollar from every rachet hub sold should go to a college fund for Mike Aitkens’ kid.

  • yello ( November 20th, 2008 at 8:59 pm ):

aitkens kid will be too busy riding

  • chadd ( November 20th, 2008 at 9:32 pm ):

    or something close to that

but what hub guards are they compatible with

    besides the g-sport one

  • jake ( November 22nd, 2008 at 8:22 pm ):

  • jonh ( November 23rd, 2008 at 9:24 am ):

  • troy. ( November 23rd, 2008 at 7:06 pm ):
