when are these coming out?! i want them sooooooo badddd!
and smuggler, im pretty sure they are named jcpc because the pedal design is actually jim c's pedal design and G is making them into plastics with metal pedals so they are still technically jim c's pedal design. im not sure thats just what i think

Why is this pedal named JCPC?

It should be named the G pedal or something, seeing that it's actually G who designed them.

G is getting the short end of this whole G-sport/Odyssey deal it seams...

Wasn't the whole point of the Twisted PC's to keep you from tearing up your shins when you slip? This is basically a weaker alloy pedal. I guess it's a cool concept. I think I'll stick with my twisteds though.

I recently bend 9 pairs of Odsy PC, cause I like gaps to flat & such kind of tricks. Ball bearing pedals are bending so much easier than evan pedals with sealed bearings (bushing is usually supporting the ~12mm axle) on the crankarm side. (vs.ball bearings bening the 10-11mm axle so easily). Hope that these hollow thick axles will sort out my problems.

Hi Quonch, let me explain then...

1. Yes, they are a little heavier than the Twisted PC, about 3 ounces on a pair. But they are still only 17oz for a pair, which is considerably lighter than most pedals with steel pins.

2. They are CONSIDERABLY stronger than the twisted PC, probably 2 to 3 times as strong. At 15mm the hollow axle is designed to last indefinitely and replacement pedal body halves will be relatively cheap.

3. Because the axle is so durable, and ALL the other parts are cheap and easy to replace, the OVERALL cost after a year or two is likely to be considerably lower than replacing Twisted PCs every 6 months or so. We are looking at a target price for the pedals of about $35-40 but a full set of the plastic body parts will be around $10 ($5 per pedal), and because you ONLY have to replace the damaged part they are likely to work out very economical.

4. Yes there are no balls. The entire body is made of a bearing grade plastic and you have to remember that we arent just replacing a narrow steel bearing with a narrow plastic one, the bearing surface runs pretty much the full width of the pedal. Far from "flapping about" the design of the pedal allows you to tune the bearing to the spin you like, you can simply tighten the bolts more to stiffen the pedal up (so that pedals dont move during tricks) or leave them free to spin if you prefer.

We have been riding these pedals for around 2 years now, and EVERYONE who has tried them likes them.

I hope this helps you keep an open mind and that you will TRY them before jumping to too many conclusions...
