Getting stopped by the cops is pretty common in Mexico. Sometimes you just have to give them some pesos, or have Mafia guys driving the vans. Either way it helps when they are wearing Odyssey Gloves, and you ride for Odyssey. They get psyched.(photo:rob tibbs)

Those were probably the same counterfeit bootleg gloves that some crafty hispanic rider had printed up. They probably say “ODDYSEY” on them. Did you guys head down to the Ditch Jam contest Hootenanny shindig? I would love to ride that place. Mexico seems like it would be fun to ride. Too bad I dont speak spanish too well.

Hey Panchito, I was truely Joking. I didnt mean to offend anyone with that remark. I was just making reference to a story in RIDE about the Red Bull Ditch Jam about how some mexican riders were rumored to be buying a CNC mill to make counterfeit sprockets. HAHAHA. I was not even trying to be racist there. And yeah, I still have no clue as to what you said to me, but Mexico does sound fun to ride. I would like to go there once. Seems like it would be fun.

And by the way, I had a pair of those gloves, my friend Dustin left them in my truck, and then I just started riding them, the fingertips on my gloves wore out pretty quick. But they were better than slipping off of my longneck grips. But yeah, I had a pair. SMALL WORLD!

hey brad, i know about that and i don’t blame them beacause they can’t affort to buy the real parts so they had to find a way to make cheaper cool parts, a good sprocket is worth more than a whole weak of work in mexico, i’d bet you would do the same if that was your situation. about what i said, i only said that i am glad that i do speak spanish and that i can ride in mexico once or twice a year.
