Catalog » Twombolt Cranks

The most advanced Odyssey cranks to date are called the Twombolts. These combine a handful of simple machines to create a simple and strong crankset. They feature a true two-piece crank, one bolt configuration. The unique wedge cluster is the heart of the system, and it addresses all of the issues found on ordinary cranks. The wedge cluster design optimizes the arm‚ interface, simplifies assembly, and makes use of a durable and replaceable elastic retainer band. One problem this interface eliminates is the ankle-biting, bolt-loaded chunks of aluminum and steel found on pinch bolt cranks. Twombolts also eliminate the difficult installations and seemingly endless loosening and wobble issues found on archaic “hammer on/off” spline designs.
The Twombolt’s feature an updated mating arm lug for increased durability and improved fit with an integrated, ultra-hollow 22 mm spindle that is nearly 17% stronger than 19 mm versions. This increased strength is possible while also managing to save a significant amount of weight. This weight savings helps to put the Twombolt in the same category as three-piece cranks that rely on weaker, expensive Titanium spindles. Twombolt’s have greatly improved overall function and performance, proven both in the lab and during extensive long-term riding. If you already own the original Wombolts, the new Twombolt mating arms and wedge clusters are compatible with existing Wombolt drive arms for seamless replacement parts.
