While a welded seam rim is considered the best, that was compared to the pinned rims of the past that were not considered high end. To meet the needs of a lower priced rim that can be used on the professional level, The Quadrant rim was designed with an entirely new pinned junction. The cross section shows the four pins, two in the beads and two at the outermost corners of the rim’s inner diameter, unlike other pinned junctions that use 2 pins, in random placement. The 4 pins in these areas forms a significantly stronger joint. The spoke lacing has a slight offset and it is drilled at an angle where there is extra support for the nipples in the rim’s central section. This lacing pattern and orientation allows for a strong wheel build that is easy to assemble and manufacture. The Quadrant is a double wall design made from 6061-T6, weighing in at approximately 420g, making it the lightest rim we make. US and Foreign Patents Pending.
This rim is available in a complete wheel, laced onto either our Vandero 2 hub or V3 Cassette.
