The natural progression of the JC was found in the JC Trailmix. In conjunction with ideas from Taj Mihelich, the JC was updated based on rider feedback. The JC Trailmix was lighter, sleeker and had stronger spindles. The Trailmix was the first pedal to use the 17mm wrench flats to help create a stronger spindle. Instead of tapering a spindle down to a smaller, weaker diameter just to use the status quo 15 mm wrench, the JC Trailmix uses a larger thickness at the point where all of the major force is located. Since the majority of BMX axles used a 17 mm wrench, this also cut down on the amount of tools one would need to work on his or her bicycle.
